Congressman Turner Stands With Senators On Preventing A Nuclear Iran

New York – Congressman Bob Turner (NY-09) released the following statement in support of a bipartisan coalition of Senators who have agreed to reject a containment option for Iran.

“Iran has a long history of supporting terrorist activities against the United States and our allies. Their sustained hostility towards our country is just one of the many reasons why allowing that country to obtain nuclear capabilities of any kind poses a dangerous threat to our national security. I am pleased that a bipartisan group of Senators have expressed their concerns and stated that they would reject any option that would result in simply containing an Iran with nuclear weapons capabilities. I stand with their demand that Iran suspend their uranium enrichment activities immediately. We must use any means necessary to ensure Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons.”
